WORLD YWCA DAY

YWCA of Malawi in observing our common membership and achievements in the movement that advances human rights and leadership of women, young women and girls hosted an activity where young girls, adolescent mothers and other women came to the safe space to commemorate the wold YWCA day on the theme of ” find your voice, share your story“.

Knowing that every individual, women inclusive have rights to be heard but due to culture, tradition and other systems in Malawi a lot of women do not have the power to voice out. It was made clear that every person has the right to voice out freely.

After the session where some girls shared out their stories in exercising their right and encouraging others, every participant was given a paper to write how important their voice is.
